Day 17 – Glasgow, MT to Malta, MT

Today’s route covered 70.9 miles, 26% was supposed to be unpaved. However, we found that the unpaved portion on Old US Hwy 2 was closed, so the group (John, Greg, & Rolf) stayed on US 2 into Malta. Mark was truck jockey for the day.

Our campground in Glasgow was behind the Cottonwood Inn & Suites and was administered by the hotel. The grounds were well cared for and we found a nice place to set up camp under the shade of some cottonwood trees.

Our campsite in Malta was at the city park and we had a nice pavilion to prepare and eat our meals.

The riding was reasonable along US Hwy 2. Traffic wasn’t too heavy and drivers were generally polite and respectful. The scenery along the way was largely grain fields with some wheat harvesting underway.
