Day 23 – Cardston, AB to Twin Butte, AB

The group left Cardston under cloudy skies and strong winds (20+ mph with gusts to 32) from the west. Rolf, John, & Mark pedaled west making slow progress.

We got the 16 mile point at a small store where we purchased some food and drink. Mark was toast and elected to text Greg in the truck saying he needed a ride. Rolf & John also decided to hop into the truck and we all visited Waterton Lakes - the Canadian side of Glacier Park.

We all had lunch in Waterton. Waterton Lakes is a beautiful area surrounded by majestic mountains next to beautiful lakes.

The wind was blowing hard so, although we tried, we did not have a nice picnic by a lake. Rolf ate his sandwich and Greg, Mark, & John ate in one of the local restaurants. We were impressed at the differences between the Canada Park system and the US National Parks. The Canadian side of Glacier has a small town inside it with private property as well as park assets. Rolf headed off by bike to the Airbnb he set up for us. A beautiful home set back from the highway with a nice home with 3 beds and enough floor space for the 4^th person to sleep. We were greeted by Eileen, who, along with her husband Bruce, welcomed us into their lodging.

By the time we got to the Airbnb the sun was out (mostly) and we were able to dry our wet tents and settled into our comfortable abode.
