Day 25 – Crowsnest Campground, AB to Fernie, BC

Today’s route was 50.7 miles all along Canada Highway 3, all paved and mostly downhill – after we went over the pass. The pass was not very steep. BUT the day began and ended in the rain, with rain most of the day. Mark was scheduled to drive (which he did) and Greg & John elected to ride in the truck. However, our intrepid biker, Rolf did the entire route and said it was one of the easiest 50 mile days he’s ever ridden.
We stopped for coffee in Coleman, AB where Rolf was able to join us.
Once we arrived in Fernie, the sun came out and we could see some of the glorious mountains in this mountain biking and alpine skiing mecca. We made a visit to Fernie Brewing and enjoyed a beer there.
Because it was Labour (Canadian spelling) Day, Rolf had us booked into a 2-bedroom Airbnb. The sun came out and we all dried our tents and any other wet gear.
Mark, Greg, & John also took the opportunity to do some shopping and John got a haircut.
